From a Few Lip Balms to TG Organics – My Story

Every business has a beginning, and mine started in one of the most uncertain times we've ever experienced.

It was June 2020, during the first COVID lockdown.

At the time, I was working as a sports and holistic therapist, but like so many others, everything had suddenly stopped. Treatments were cancelled, doors were closed, and the world felt very different.

My sister-in-law worked in the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) at the hospital, and she told me how uncomfortable it was wearing masks for hours on end. Her lips were sore, dry, and cracked from constantly wearing PPE, and many of her colleagues were experiencing the same.

I remember thinking, there must be something I can do to help.

So I went into my kitchen, melted together some natural ingredients, and made my very first batch of lip balm.

I made enough for my sister-in-law to take into work, and before I knew it, I was making lip balms for nurses, doctors, paramedics, friends, and many of my own clients who were wearing masks all day.

There was never any grand business plan.

I simply wanted to help.

Looking back now, those little tins changed everything.

As time went on, I wanted to learn more. I became fascinated by natural ingredients and how they could support the skin and body. Every spare minute was spent researching, reading, and experimenting with formulations.

Eventually, those first tins became professionally labelled lip butters.

That was the moment TG Organics really started to take shape.

Being a therapist, I also wanted products that I could confidently use during treatments. I wasn't interested in filling products with unnecessary ingredients—I wanted to formulate products that were simple, effective, and made with naturally derived ingredients.

One of the first products I became truly passionate about was my Magnesium Muscle Balm.

I wanted something that combined magnesium chloride with carefully selected botanical ingredients traditionally used to support tired muscles and ease discomfort. It soon became a favourite with my clients and gave me the confidence to continue creating new products.

During lockdown, I also experimented with so many other ideas.

I made my very first handmade soap...

I created calming pulse point rollers to help people through what was an incredibly anxious time…

...and like everyone else, I experienced the daily reality of masks, steamed-up glasses, and face shields that made even the simplest jobs feel challenging.

It's funny looking back now. At the time, none of us knew how long it would last, but those difficult months taught me something incredibly important.

Sometimes the best ideas are born from simply wanting to help someone else.

Today, TG Organics has grown far beyond those first kitchen experiments.

Every product is still formulated by me. Every recipe is carefully developed from a therapist's perspective, using quality ingredients that I genuinely believe in. Every batch is still made with the same care and attention as that very first lip balm.
